Is Neo-Soul on Life Support?

10 years have passed since we first heard the infamously hypnotiq words: "...Want summa yo Brown Sugar" The voice reminded us of time tested artists like Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Teddy Pendagrass, Smokey Robinson, and so many others...but this time, the voice was a little fresher, modern...and so came the dawn of "NEO-soul." But in retropect, today, many are asking: What was so NEW about this sound? And what have been the consequences of branding artists like Bilal, Dwele, Jill Scott, and Amel Larrieux as "neo-soul" artists? What's New With Eric Roberson?

How dioes an artist elevate their game EVEN after everyone agrees they are already at the top of their game? Well, if you don't know the answer, taking a lesson from singer, songwriter, and producer Eric Roberson is a good place to start. Hearing over the last few years that his humble album release (which are award-worthy) do not do justice to his live performance, Eric has opted to package his live events on DVD just for you.

Erro Live: Vol. DC consists of two hours of live concert performance, including some of Roberson’s most popular and requested songs, unreleased material, and one of his noted freestyle songs (where the gifted songwriter randomly takes subjects submitted by audience members, and makes up a song on stage,) as well as over an hour of behind-the-scenes footage of life on the road for an independent artist, which are at times both hysterical and poignant. Roberson has established an enthusiastic reputation for high energy, theatrical concert performances, as well as being
recognized for his smooth vocals and reflective songwriting. The CD will be an audio companion to the videodisc. The CD and DVD will be sold as a set.
